To create a downloadable product:
- Log in your administrator panel and click on the Manage products link in the CATALOG side box on the left.
- Click on a product name in the list or add a new product. The updating product page will be open.
- Select the Downloadable product check box and click on the Save changes button.
- After the page reloading click on the Files tab.
- Upload your file(s) (that will be sold) by using Add file(s) form. Click on the Add new button to upload the file.
NOTE: You are able to make the product downloadable and add files to it by using the import option. The description of the correct format can be found in the Imported fields format article.
NOTES:
- The uploaded files are stored in the file system (under the var/downloads directory of the CS-Cart installation).
- If a customer buys this product, he will receive an email with the link to the purchased file only after his order status is processed or completed. By default, if an order is placed, but it's not paid yet, the order status is Open. So the customer will receive the email with the links only after the store administrator sets the order status to Processed or Completed.
- There is Download key TTL (for electronically distributed products), hours setting on the Settings page in the panel. It defines time in hours within which the customer can download the file(s) after the purchase. This period can be prolonged for certain order on the order details page.
