Global product options

If most of your products have the same product option, you can define this option on the "Global options" page in the administrator panel. You will need to define the product option only once and then you will be able to add it to any product in one click (without necessity to add option variants to each product one by one).

To set up global product options:

1. Click on the Global options link in the CATALOG side box on the left of your administrator panel.
2. Fill in the Option name input field under the Add product options section (e.g. Color).
3. Select the type of the new option in the Type select box next to the previous input fields.

   NOTE: There are the following types of options available in CS-Cart:
   - select box;
   - radio group;
   - check box;
   - text;
   - text area;
   

4. Below the entered name fill in the Variant name input field (e.g. Green), in the Modifier input field next to it set the amount that will be added to the product price if this option is selected (e.g. +2). Leave it empty if the price will not change. To add more variants click on the Add empty item button next to this row.
5. After all the variants are filled in click on the Add new button at the bottom to save the changes.

To set up a global product option for a product:

1. Click on the Manage products link in the CATALOG side box on the right of your administrator panel.
2. Click on a product name link and then on the Product Options tab.
3. Select the desired global option in the Global options select box and click on the Apply button.

   NOTE: If you select the Apply as link check box, the select product option will be added as a link to the product. This means that you cannot edit the option for the current product, but the added product option will reflect all the changes made to it on the Global options page.
   

If you do not select the check box, the option will be copied to the list of product options for the product and you will be able to edit its variants at any time.
