Setting up Live Help

  1. Log in to your CS-Cart administration panel and click on the Addons link in the ADMINISTRATION side box on the right.
  2. Select the Live Help check box. The LIVE HELP side box will be displayed in your storefront and your customers will be able to start chatting with operator(s) (if they are online) or leave a message by clicking on the links in this side box.
  3. Download Live Help client (it is software for Windows) on the File area page in our Customer Help Desk to your local computer. Install it there.
  4. Launch Live Help client on your computer. First you will need to specify the URL of your CS-Cart installation:
    1. On the Tools menu, click Options. The Configuration window will be open.
    2. Enter the URL of your CS-Cart installation in the Path to the store input field. The URL should be http://www.your_domain.com/your_cscart_directory/index.php where replace "your_domain.com" with the name of your domain, "your_cscart_directory" with the name of the directory where CS-Cart is installed on your server as seen from the Web, e.g 'shop' (if applicable).
    3. Click on the Test connection button.
    4. If you get a message about the successful testing, click on the ok button at the bottom of the window to save the setting.
  5. Try connecting to your CS-Cart:
    1. Click on the green round button in the top left corner of Live Help client window.
    2. Enter test credentials (login is demo, password is demo) in the Connecting box.
    3. Click on the OK button.
  6. You are able to change the credentials for the default operator on the Manage operators page (the link to this page is in the LIVE HELP side box on the right of your CS-Cart administration panel). Also if necessary you are able to create new operator accounts on the same page. In order to make Live Help go online, new operators should install and launch Live Help clients on their computers, set them up (by following the instructions in item #4) and log in.
