Restricting access to your panel using the Access restrictions addon

To restrict access to your administrator panel using the Access restrictions addon.
  1. Log in your administrator panel and click on the Addons link in the ADMINISTRATION side box on the right.
  2. Select the Access restrictions check box and click on the Update button.
  3. Open the Access restrictions tab on the Addons page.
  4. Select the Allow login to the admin area from specified IPs only check box and click on the Update button.
    1. Click on the Access restrictions link in the ADMINISTRATION side box.
    2. Open the Admin area tab on the same page.
    3. Enter the first and the last IP addresses of the interval for which access to the admin panel will be allowed in the IP from and IP to fields. If you want to allow access for one address only, then enter it in any of these two fields.
      NOTE: The administrator IP will be saved automatically in the "Admin area" tab.
  5. Select the Block IP after a number of unsuccessful attempts check box if you want to deny any further attempts to log in.
    NOTE: The number of possible attempts should be specified below and the attempts have to be made within the period set in the 'Time between unsuccessful login attempts (seconds)' field.
  6. Define the number of failed attempts after which the user's IP address will be blocked in the Number of unsuccessful attempts field.
  7. Specify the period within which attempts have to be made in the Time between unsuccessful login attempts (seconds) field.
  8. Specify the period for which the IP address will be blocked in the Time for which the IP should be blocked (hours) field.
